Funky Mug Clay Handbuilding Workshop

Get your hands in the clay and create a mug that’s truly one-of-a-kind! Guests will learn how to build their own mug from clay and finish it off with a creative handle design of their choice.

Our team will guide you step-by-step through the process of shaping your mug and attaching a custom handle. We’ll have a few playful examples to inspire you—like ribbon handles, pretzel twists, and fun coil designs—but the real fun is making something uniquely yours. Whether you go whimsical, sculptural, or totally outside the box, this workshop is all about creativity and experimenting with clay.

No clay experience is needed—just come ready to roll, shape, and have a toadily good time getting a little muddy!

🍓 Clay Options: Choose your preferred clay body based on how you’d like to use your finished piece:

🌿 Low Fire Earthenware ($45) – Ideal for indoor use, this clay will be painted with a variety of colorful glazes from our front studio paint bar.

💎 Mid-Fire Stoneware ($55) – Perfect for indoor or outdoor use, this durable clay is dishwasher, microwave, and oven safe. You'll glaze it with our specialty stoneware glazes in the stoneware studio.

After the workshop, your mug will stay at the studio to be fired, glazed, and fired again, making it food-safe and ready for everyday use. Pieces will be ready for pickup at a later date.

Refund & Cancellation Policy

At Mr. Toad's Pottery, we strive to provide a creative and enriching environment through our various classes, workshops, and special events. Please review our detailed cancellation and refund policy below, which is tailored to different event types:

Workshops, Classes, Paint & Sips, Art Camps:

• Minimum Participants:

  A minimum of 4 participants is required to hold a workshop or class.

• Cancellation by Us:

  If we do not reach this minimum, we may contact you one week in advance to encourage additional sign-ups. If the minimum is still not met 48 hours before the event, we will either transfer your registration to another class or issue a full refund.

• Cancellation by You:

  If you need to cancel your attendance, please do so at least 48 hours before your scheduled class to receive a credit for a future class. This credit will be valid for use within the next three months. Unfortunately, cancellations made less than 48 hours before the class will not receive a credit or refund.

  You may cancel your participation via phone, email, or online.

• Refunds:

  When refunds are issued, they will be processed to your original form of payment within 5-7 business days.
