Stoneware Belted Mug

Join us for an immersive and hands-on workshop on stoneware pottery painting! In this class, you'll learn the techniques and skills needed to create beautiful and unique designs on stoneware mugs.

Stoneware is made from a denser, stronger clay that is fired at a higher temperature than the earthenware that you are used to painting in-studio. This high firing temperature causes the clay to vitrify, or turn into a glass-like material, which makes it strong, durable, and non-porous. Stoneware is often used for making dishes that are exposed to high heat, such as baking dishes, casseroles, and coffee mugs, because it can withstand the high temperatures without cracking or breaking.

Led by experienced pottery artists, you'll be guided through the process of applying glazes and paint to stoneware surfaces. From color theory to brushwork, you'll gain a deep understanding of how to make your designs come to life on the surface of your pottery.

Registration for the workshop is $5 and your Mug will be paid for the night of the event. We'll provide all the necessary materials, including stoneware mugs, brushes, and a wide variety of glazes. All you need to bring is your creativity and enthusiasm!

By the end of the class, you'll have a beautiful, hand-painted stoneware mug that you can take home and enjoy. This is a perfect class for anyone interested in pottery, painting, or simply looking for a fun and creative experience.

You may cancel by phone, via email, or online. If you have to cancel your class, we offer you a credit to your account if you cancel before the 48 hours, but do not offer refunds. You may use these credits towards any future class. However, if you do not cancel prior to the 48 hours, you will lose the payment for the class.
