About the event
Bring a little piece of the Great Lakes to the pottery studio! 🌊✨ In this guided stoneware glazing workshop, we'll show you how to create a beautiful Petoskey stone-inspired design on a piece of your choice.
Petoskey stones are known for their distinctive honeycomb-like fossil patterns, and we'll show you how to recreate that look using rich stoneware glazes and painting techniques. You'll learn how to build up your design, create depth and dimension, and use glaze to achieve the natural, organic look of these iconic stones.
And because you'll be working with stoneware, your finished piece will be more than just beautiful! Stoneware is fired to a higher temperature, creating a dense, durable piece with rich glaze colors and unique kiln-fired reactions. Your finished pottery will be dishwasher, microwave, and oven safe, and it's durable enough for outdoor use too, making it a piece you can enjoy for years to come.
Choose a stoneware piece from our wide selection and make the design your own! Whether you want to keep things subtle and natural or create a more colorful interpretation, our instructors will guide you through the process and help you bring your vision to life.
